For a lot of us, it seems we woke up one morning and the world was suddenly different. We were giving last hugs and closing our doors for a little while, maybe longer than we initially thought.
For some parents, this is the first time having their little people home 24/7! And my heart goes out to you!!! Especially if you've been a working mama or papa, and suddenly you are trying to juggle entertaining, educating and caring for your children PLUS working from home!
I am hoping to help a little bit by sharing some insight on how we "homeschool preschool" and hopefully provide you with some inspiration to set up a home where your littles can independently manage their play and learning! (note: you'll still be expected to wipe bottoms, wash apples, provide endless snacks and probably tidy up...)
I've also created some free ebooks and documents for members to access. I highly suggest starting off with Setting Up a Playful Home- this is mostly about working with what you have at home to create little "nooks" where children can independently play and learn (you can adapt this to your child's interests and age). If you get a grasp of this, you'll hopefully find you don't need to set up daily or even weekly activities.
The second ebook that supports this is Flexible Daily Planning- this gives you a rough idea of how to structure a day for preschool and school aged children including behaviour management, plus ideas for simple no-prep activities and resources you can use when things get crazy (energy burning activities; calming activities; simple play ideas).
You'll also have access to a PDF with hyperlinks for online tutorials and resources for children and students (exercises; story time; free learning resources and printables; etc)
Lastly, I created a ABC Phonics document aimed for preschoolers and early primary years. This includes craft and sensory play inspiration!
I'd love to know if and how these resources help out and if there is anything specific you'd like me to source or create...
PLEASE REMEMBER, you're number one role is to be a parent- what your children need now above anything is to feel loved and secure.
