Looking for a fun activity to do with kids these holidays? How about stepping into a world of optical illusions!
We were recently kindly invited to visit Artvo Melbourne and experience the traditional art museum in a whole new way. The larger than life murals allowed us to come face to face with wild animals, scale rocky crevasses and surf the ultimate pipelines. Stretching over 1400 square metres, we walked through a variety of different zones, each with its own spectacular illusions.
We were all so excited by the immersive, ‘trick-art’ installations! There’s a new theme at the moment – Fantasy – spanning the entire course of the gallery. The Fantasy theme will see people explore the ocean, polar ice caps, space and the forest. Plus, the dreamscape art will see some very exciting interactive experiences.
Unbelievable scenarios. Priceless photos! Looking back on the photos you would think my kids were “posing” but they were genuinely just engaging with the artwork and feeling a part of it! (Mr almost-5 even got to live out his fantasy of being Iron Man!)
The experience was taken to a next level by the ah-mazzzzing museum staff (mumma’s if you want to get into those photos yourself - they have you covered! It was so refreshing to be encouraged to actually BE IN THE PHOTOS and have someone take some of me!!!! There is now sooo much FUN proof-of-me and my kids on my phone!)
If you’re looking for something to do these school holidays / anytime - we definitely give it 10 thumbs up!!! (And will be going back again!! This time a little earlier in the day so we can stay longer!)
